Sam & Dave were a famous American soul and R&B duo, consisting of Sam Moore and Dave Prater. The duo was formed in 1961 and became known for their energetic style and dynamic performances on stage. They are widely recognized for their hits such as "Soul Man" and "Hold On, I'm Comin'". Sam & Dave are the embodiments of the music of the Stax Records label and have exerted a great influence on soul music. The duo disbanded in 1981, but their music continues to inspire many artists of the genre.
