Rancid is a punk rock band formed in 1991 in Berkeley, California, United States. The band's original members are Tim Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Matt Freeman (bass, vocals), Lars Frederiksen (guitar, vocals), and Brett Reed (drums), who was later replaced by Branden Steineckert in 2006. Rancid are known for their authentic punk sound that combines elements of ska, reggae, and other musical influences. They have released several albums with great success, most notably "...And Out Come the Wolves" (1995) and "Let's Go" (1994), and are considered one of the most important bands in their genre.
