Pantera

Pantera

Group
Pantera was an American heavy metal band formed in 1981 in Arlington, Texas. The founding members were brothers Vinnie Paul (drums) and Dimebag Darrell (guitar), along with Rex Brown (bass) and Phil Anselmo (vocals). The band gained fame in the 1990s by creating and establishing the groove metal sound. Their 1990 album "Cowboys from Hell" is considered a turning point for the genre, while "Vulgar Display of Power" in 1992 solidified their position in the heavy metal scene. With tracks like "Walk" and "Mouth for War," Pantera became known for their intense music and dynamic live performances. The band disbanded in 2003, and the Abbott brothers formed Damageplan. Unfortunately, Dimebag Darrell was murdered in 2004 during a Damageplan performance, and the band never reunited. The legacy of Pantera lives on through their influence on the metal genre.
