Mountain was an American rock band formed in 1969. The band was founded by guitarist Leslie West and bassist and producer Felix Pappalardi. Mountain became known for their famous appearance at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and for the track "Mississippi Queen," which is considered a classic of the hard rock genre. Their music was influenced by blues rock and heavy metal and served as an influence for many future bands.
