Lamont Dozier was an American songwriter and producer, known primarily for his contribution to the development of Motown music in the 1960s. Born on June 16, 1941, in Detroit, he was a member of the famous three-member creative team Holland–Dozier–Holland, which composed and produced major hits for artists such as The Supremes, The Four Tops, and Martha and the Vandellas. With over 50 tracks reaching the American Top 10, Dozier's work has left an indelible mark on the music industry. His compositions are characterized by dynamic melodies and unforgettable lyrics, contributing decisively to shaping the sound of the era. He passed away on August 8, 2022.
