John Campbell

Singer

John Campbell (January 20, 1952, Louisiana - June 13, 1993, New York) was a distinctive figure in blues music. He is said to have learned to play the guitar at a young age, but he began to seriously engage with music after a serious car accident in which he lost his right eye and his right lung. He became known in blues music circles thanks to his albums One Believer and Howlin Mercy. He died suddenly of a heart attack in 1993 at a time when it seemed he had much more to offer to the world of blues.
