Immortal

Immortal, formed in 1991 in Bergen, Norway, are one of the most iconic bands of the second wave of black metal. Unlike many of their contemporaries, they avoided religious and political controversies, focusing their themes on the fictional realm of Blashyrkh — a frozen world filled with demons and eternal winter. Founding members and central figures were Abbath Doom Occulta and Demonaz Doom Occulta. Their musical evolution started from the raw, fast sound of the albums "Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism" and "Pure Holocaust", while later they incorporated thrash elements in records like "At the Heart of Winter".
