Huey Lewis & The News is an American rock band that was formed in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1979, they became widely known during the 1980s. Led by Huey Lewis (born Hugh Anthony Cregg III), the band stood out mainly for its hits "The Power of Love," "Hip to Be Square," and "I Want a New Drug." Their music combines elements of rock, blues, and rhythm and blues. The band's album "Sports" (1983) achieved great commercial success, reaching top positions on the charts.
