Eddie Floyd is an American soul music singer and songwriter, best known for his hit "Knock on Wood". Born on June 25, 1937, in Montgomery, Alabama, Floyd was one of the founding members of the group The Falcons. He then managed to establish himself in the Memphis music scene, collaborating with the legendary Stax Records studio. He was an associate of many famous artists and contributed significantly to the development of soul music in the 1960s and 1970s.
