David Coverdale is an English singer-songwriter, best known as the lead singer of the legendary rock band Whitesnake. Born on September 22, 1951, in Saltburn, Yorkshire, Coverdale began his career in the music industry with the band Deep Purple in 1973, replacing singer Ian Gillan. With Deep Purple, he participated in the recording of the albums "Burn" and "Stormbringer."
