The Cowboy Junkies are a Canadian musical group that was formed in 1985 in Toronto by siblings Margo, Michael, and Peter Timmins along with Alan Anton. The band is known for their unique style that combines country, blues, folk, and rock elements. Their 1988 album "The Trinity Session," recorded with a single microphone in a church, established them on the international scene. The subdued and melancholic performance, combined with Margo Timmins' ethereal voice, has been described as one of the most distinctive in the alternative music space. The Cowboy Junkies remain creatively active, continuing to release new music and participate in international tours.
