Booker T. & The M.G.'s is an iconic American soul and instrumental music band, formed in 1962 in Memphis, Tennessee. The band initially included Booker T. Jones on keyboards, Steve Cropper on guitar, Lewie Steinberg on bass, and Al Jackson Jr. on drums. Subsequently, Donald "Duck" Dunn replaced Steinberg on bass. They are known for their distinctive groove and hits such as "Green Onions." As the house band of the Stax Records label, they played a crucial role in the development of the Memphis sound and the success of many Stax artists. Their contribution was widely recognized, and in 1992 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
