As One  by Kool & The Gang

In 1982, Kool & The Gang released the fourteenth album of their long career. The recording of As One lasted from October 1981 to June 1982, and by September it was out in the market.

Kool & The Gang are trying to join the new era, but on the other hand, they can't detach themselves from the sound of the '70s that had brought them success. Thus, As One is an album in which funk dominates, but disco is also in a satisfying balance. The big success of the album was the single Big Fun, which was a hit beyond the States. Another strong moment of the album was Hi De Hi, Hi De Ho, which was released as the third and last single of the record. The title track As One is a classic R&B low-tempo composition.

As One is the fourth and last time that the band Kool & The Gang collaborated with producer Eumir Deodato. The album reached No.142 on the Billboard chart.
