Nightclubbing by Grace Jones
About the album Nightclubbing
Grace Jones, originally from Jamaica, reaches her fifth personal album with Nightclubbing in 1981.
Nightclubbing is a collection of songs that are primarily covers of songs by other artists (David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Marianne Faithfull, Bill Withers, Sting, etc.) presented in Grace Jones' unique style. Due to the album's cover, Grace Jones acquired the androgynous image by which the whole world knows her.
The album's production was managed by Chris Blackwell and Alex Sadkin. Nightclubbing achieved sales of around 400,000 copies in the U.S., and it entered the Top-40 of the Billboard, reaching No. 32.
