Dub
See all GenresDub is a subgenre of reggae music that developed in Jamaica in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This music is characterized by extensive use of remix, with emphasis on sound effects such as echo and reverb, as well as the isolation or removal of vocal elements to highlight the rhythmic elements, particularly bass and drums. Dub producers, such as Lee "Scratch" Perry and King Tubby, have been instrumental in defining and evolving this unique soundscape that has influenced many other musical genres.
