Vampire Weekend is an American indie rock band formed in 2006 in New York City. The band originally consisted of Ezra Koenig (vocals, guitar), Rostam Batmanglij (multi-instrumentalist, production), Chris Tomson (drums), and Chris Baio (bass). They became known with the release of their self-titled album in 2008, which included hits such as "A-Punk" and "Oxford Comma." Their sound is characterized by influences of afrobeat, indie rock, and pop. Subsequently, they released the albums "Contra" (2010), "Modern Vampires of the City" (2013), which also won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album, and "Father of the Bride" (2019). Vampire Weekend has been recognized for their eclectic music and inventive lyric compositions.
