The Supremes were a famous female musical group of the 1960s, which represented the Motown scene. They were founded in Detroit in 1959, and the initial members of the group were Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Betty McGlown. Later, McGlown was replaced by Barbara Martin, who also left the group in 1962, making it a trio. The Supremes were acclaimed for their outstanding performances and their stylistic presence, gaining international fame with songs such as "Where Did Our Love Go," "Baby Love," and "Stop! In the Name of Love." Diana Ross became the central figure of the group before departing in 1970 to pursue a solo career. The Supremes continued with various line-ups, always maintaining the distinctive sound that made them classics.
