The Housemartins

Group

The Housemartins were a British indie pop band formed in 1983 in Hull, England. Initially consisting of Paul Heaton, Stan Cullimore, Ted Key, and Hugh Whitaker, they became known for their melodic sound and socio-political lyrics. Their lineup later included Norman Cook, who later became known as Fatboy Slim. The band released two studio albums, "London 0 Hull 4" (1986) and "The People Who Grinned Themselves to Death" (1987). Their biggest commercial triumph was the single "Caravan of Love," which reached the top of the UK Singles Chart in 1986. Despite the short duration of their career, the Housemartins had a significant impact on the Britpop scene before disbanding in 1988, with their members pursuing successful individual careers.
