The Great Society was a psychedelic band from San Francisco, formed in 1965. Despite their brief existence, the band had a significant influence on the psychedelic rock scene of the 1960s. The band is known for the initial participation of singer Grace Slick, who would later become a member of Jefferson Airplane. Their music combined folk, rock, and psychedelic elements, with some of their most famous compositions including pieces like "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit." In 1966, Grace Slick left to join Jefferson Airplane, which led to the dissolution of The Great Society.
