The Fall was an English post-punk band that formed in Prestwich, Manchester in 1976. The founders of the band were Mark E. Smith, Martin Bramah, Una Baines, and Tony Friel. The band was known for its frequent lineup changes, with Smith being the only constant member until his death in 2018. Their musical style combined the hard and fast sound of punk with more experimental and lyrical influences. The Fall was known for its unique sound and Smith's distinctive performances, influencing many subsequent bands. They released over 30 studio albums and numerous compilations.
