The Associates
Group
The Associates were a Scottish musical band formed in 1979 by singer Billy Mackenzie and guitarist/keyboardist Alan Rankine. During their career, they rose to prominence mainly in the 1980s with an original sound that combined elements of synthpop, post-punk, and new wave. The Associates became known for their memorable melodies and Mackenzie's distinctive voice, releasing albums like "Sulk". The epilogue of the Associates was written in 1990, the year their fourth and final album titled Wild And Lonely was released.
