Scritti Politti is a British music band formed in 1977 in Leeds by singer-songwriter Green Gartside. They initially started with an experimental post-punk sound but gradually evolved into synth-pop melodies that brought them success in the 1980s. Their album "Cupid & Psyche 85" is among their most well-known works, including hits like "Perfect Way" and "Wood Beez (Pray Like Aretha Franklin)". Their multi-layered productions and intelligent lyrics gained them devoted fans, and Green Gartside remained the central and creative force behind the band.
