Portishead is a British musical band from the trip-hop scene, formed in 1991 in Bristol, England. The band consists of Beth Gibbons (vocals), Geoff Barrow (producer, DJ), and Adrian Utley (guitarist). They became known in 1994 with their debut album "Dummy," which is considered pivotal for the development of the trip-hop genre. Following with the albums "Portishead" (1997) and "Third" (2008), Portishead continues to innovate and draw interest with their atmospheric sound that combines elements of electronic, hip hop, and psychedelic music.
