Nightwish is a Finnish symphonic metal band formed in 1996 by the main composer and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, and former singer Tarja Turunen. The band is considered one of the most successful in its genre, known for the creative blend of symphonic and operatic elements with metal. Their first album, "Angels Fall First," was released in 1997, but they gained international recognition with the album "Oceanborn" in 1998. Nightwish has released many successful albums and has undergone lineup changes, yet they remain at the top of the symphonic metal scene.
