Mazzy Star
Group
Mazzy Star is an American alternative rock band formed in 1989 in Santa Monica, California. The founders of the band are singer Hope Sandoval and guitarist David Roback. The band became widely known with their album "So Tonight That I Might See" (1993), which includes the major hit "Fade Into You." The music of Mazzy Star is characterized by Sandoval's ethereal voice, psychedelic, folk, and alternative influences, and the melancholic sounds of Roback's guitar. Despite their sporadic discographic presence, the band acquired a loyal fan base and remains influential in the dream pop scene. David Roback passed away in 2020.
