Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band that was formed in 1984 in Oslo. The original founders were Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth, Jørn Stubberud (Necrobutcher), and Kjetil Manheim (Manheim). Mayhem is considered a pioneer of Norwegian black metal and is known for their extreme musical style, intense live performances, and the controversial stories surrounding the band. Their first album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas," is regarded as one of the most iconic albums of the genre. Their history has been marked by tragic events, including deaths and conflicts, which have added to the myth surrounding the band.
