La Mode
La Mode was one of the most iconic and sophisticated bands of the Movida Madrileña in early 1980s Spain. The group was formed in 1981 by Fernando Márquez, known as "El Zurdo," along with Antonio Zancajo and Mario Gil. Their sound combined new wave aesthetics with synth-pop elements and highly intellectual lyrics. Their debut album, El eterno femenino (1982), is considered a masterpiece of the era, with the track "Aquella canción de Roxy" remaining their most well-known hit. Despite Márquez's departure in 1984 due to health reasons and his replacement by Daniel Ballester, the band continued until 1986, leaving an indelible mark on the Spanish pop scene.
