
Jello Biafra & D.O.A.
Jello Biafra is an American singer, songwriter, and political activist, best known as the former singer of the punk band Dead Kennedys. Born in 1958 in Boulder, Colorado, Biafra has become the voice of political protest, using his music to critique the government and society. After the disbandment of the Dead Kennedys, he pursued a solo career and created his own record label, Alternative Tentacles. D.O.A. is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Vancouver in 1978. D.O.A. are considered pioneers of the hardcore punk sound and have influenced many other bands. The main singer and guitarist of the band is Joe Keithley. Their lyrics and music are characterized by sociopolitical themes. The collaboration between Jello Biafra and D.O.A. led to the creation of the album "Last Scream of the Missing Neighbors," which was released in 1990. The album's lyrics contain social criticism and political messages, characteristics inherent to both artists.
