The Grateful Dead were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. Known for their unique and eclectic style that combined elements of rock, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae, country, jazz, psychedelia, and space rock, they developed a large fan base known as "Deadheads." Their live presence at concerts and extended improvisations became legendary, offering unique experiences at each performance. With founding member Jerry Garcia, the band gained mythical reputation and legacy in the music scene.
