Donny Hathaway was a great American singer, composer, and producer of soul and R&B music. He was born on October 1, 1945, in Chicago and grew up in St. Louis. His musical career began in the 1960s and he was mostly known for his emotional ballads and powerful voice. He gained greater recognition with songs like "The Ghetto," "Where is the Love" (in collaboration with Roberta Flack), and "A Song for You." He faced difficulties with health problems and unfortunately passed away on January 13, 1979. Despite his personal problems, his legacy in the music scene remains indelible, influencing many artists who followed.
