Dissection

Dissection was a Swedish death/black metal band founded in 1989 by guitarist and vocalist Jon Nödtveidt. They are known for their dark and atmospheric style that combines elements from both black and death metal. The band released its first album, "The Somberlain," in 1993, which defined the genre and influenced many artists. Their most recognized work, "Storm of the Light's Bane," was released in 1995 and is considered a classic of extreme metal. The journey of Dissection was interrupted in 1997 when Nödtveidt was imprisoned for involvement in a murder. They returned in 2004 and released the album "Reinkaos" in 2006, before the tragic death of Nödtveidt the same year, marking the end of the band.
