Deftones are an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. The band's original lineup includes vocalist Chino Moreno, guitarist Stephen Carpenter, bassist Abe Cunningham, and drummer Sergio Vega. They are known for their hybrid approach to metal with elements from shoegaze, dream pop, and post-hardcore. In 1995, they released their debut album titled "Adrenaline," which was followed by many successful albums, such as "White Pony" in 2000, which won a Grammy Award for the song "Elite." Deftones continue to release music with notable records like "Diamond Eyes" (2010) and "Ohms" (2020).
