Dead Kennedys is an American punk rock band that was formed in San Francisco in 1978. Their original lineup included Jello Biafra (vocals), East Bay Ray (guitar), Klaus Flouride (bass), and Ted (drums). Known for their satirical and political themes, Dead Kennedys combined the sound of punk with sharp social criticism. Their debut album, "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" (1980), is considered a landmark of the genre. Despite their breakup in 1986, the band continues to influence punk artists.
