Chris Cornell was an American musician, best known as the lead singer of the bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. He was born on July 20, 1964, in Seattle and became one of the most iconic voices of the grunge and alternative rock scenes. His distinctive vocal range and expressiveness made him particularly beloved, while the composition "Black Hole Sun" is perhaps his most recognizable song with Soundgarden. In addition to his career with bands, Cornell also had a successful solo career. He passed away on May 18, 2017.
