Περί του Άλμπουμ Wrecking Ball

Bruce Springsteen's seventeenth album was released in early 2012 under the title Wrecking Ball. The musical style of the album moves between Heartland Rock and Folk Rock. This time the production belongs to American Ron Aniello, marking Springsteen's first collaboration with this particular producer.

Many of the songs on the album were ready several years before and were written prompted by some other Bruce Springsteen albums, culminating in the song Land Of Hope And Dreams, which was written somewhere between 1998 and 1999 and accompanied the reunion concerts of Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band in 2000. Thus, before its official studio recording and release here, the song exists in a live performance on Live in New York City which was recorded in 2000. In this song and the title track of the album, we hear for the last time a sample of the work of saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who passed away in 2011. Soozie Tyrell and her violin play an important role in the sound of the album, as its sound is dominant in many songs on Wrecking Ball.

The album reached No.1 in the U.S., as well as in many other countries. Nevertheless, the global sales that Wrecking Ball has recorded barely exceed 1,500,000 copies.
